Welcome to my first home page.  I was inspired to design my own web page after I helped to maintain the Chinese Collection website at Ohio State University.  I hope you would enjoy viewing this site, I will provide as much information about China, computers, and other things that interest me as possible.

To introduce myself, my name is Yan Zhang.  Yan is my first name, it means rocky.  I am a male undergraduate Computer Science major at Ohio State University.  I came to United States of America about eight years ago.  Although I went back to China for vacation once, I miss my home land deeply.  I am right now twenty years old, and I am interested in quite a few things.  I love to draw and paint, I wish I had a digital camera or a scanner so that I could share with you some of my works, but that is going to have to wait.  Although I will include some of my works done on the computer, they are not my best.   Other than painting, I love computers, listening to music, playing videogames, and read books or comic books over the internet.

I am a Christian, and Christianity has been apart of my life ever since I came to America.  I believe religion is grand and mysterious because it truly depends on the individual to discover what religion really means to him or her.  The most important thing I have learned from Christianity is that one should not judge another unless that person has done harm to another or himself.  I know this is very difficult, and I judge other people based on stupid reasons quite often without the conscience of doing so, but I am trying hard to stay alert for such things so that I would not regret what I have done later on.

I am from mainland China, and my nationalism is very strong.  China and its people have suffered through out its five thousand years of history, and they have suffered tremendously over the past one hundred and fifty years in particular.  However, China is waking up slowly, in the process it will encounter much more troubled waters and uncharted territories, but China will pave its own road, mark its own course of actions and march forth to protect itself and its people without fear and hesitation and it will prevail.

Well, that is about it.  I am sometimes a very simple person, yet a very complicated person at other times, sometimes even I couldn't understand myself because I still have so much more answers to look for.  If you would like to talk to me about this web site or anything at all in general, please drop me an e-mail at [email protected], thank you.
