Two of my most favorite artists are the fantasy painters Boris Valejo and Julie Bell.  Boris and Julie's oil paintings are very realistic, I especially like their use of colors, the integration of light, metal and flesh in their paintings.  Unfortunately I could not put any pictures of their paintings on this web page due to copy right issues, but you can get a sense of their mastery of oil painting at Julie Bell & Boris Vallejo's Official Homepage.

I am not a big fan of modern art such as paintings by Picasso, it is probably because I have not studied enough about these modern painters or simply because I don't understand their paintings that well.  I understand that paintings are meant to look great as first priority, the modern paintings just don't appeal to me "looking great" wise that much.  Since I am a Chinese, I love Chinese paintings of all sorts, but my works are not yet being influenced very much by them, I think the reason is that my works are simply too premature, if I want to turn to the serious side of painting and drawing, then I will turn to the Chinese paintings for inspiration.  It is too bad I could not share with you my paintings or drawings because I don't have a scanner or a digital camera, but I will show you some of my computer drawings.

In case you are wondering what Chinese paintings are like, I have included some examples of ancient Chinese paintings and modern Chinese paintings.  I love every one of these paintings, I hope you will enjoy them as well.
